Staying hundred yards from iconic Hotel Hassler, being Hepburn home while filming scenes playing a princess in “Roman Holiday,” is something really special. Spanish steps in 3 minutes and you are entering in realm of ancient and vibrant Rome, all by foot. Great location. Ancinet buliding outside, vintage stairway and elevator and then completely renovated apartment in modern clasical style. Stuff is there when you need them, great recommendations for restaurants and all what you would need.

Excellent location, perfect for Vatican and other major sites to see in Rome. This may sound trivial, but, they had water bottle filling stations on each floor. Its hard to find free water filling stations in Rome or Italy. Kudos for thinking of the little things which go along way.

Rome is a favorite for us.

Rome is a favorite for us. We enjoy the history and the architecture. The attractions are constantly improving with new venues. Virtual reality helps to visualize what existed . We get around mostly by walking. Piazza Navona location is within walking distance of many sites. Many restaurants on small side streets offer great Roman cuisine. Lots of great pizza and gelato.

Rome is a wonderful city with so many must see sights and fabulous food! It is a very walkable city and the metro is also easy to manage and goes to some of the main sights. There are also plentiful taxis. Important to book to see the primary sights like the Colosseum and the Vatican and Sistine Chapel otherwise there are enormous queues. You can have a delicious lunch at any time of day in one of the many little restaurants around town and we also ate some fabulous dinners in restaurants we found on line with lots of excellent detailed reviews.

To crowded, the traffic is hell, took us 1.5h from the airport to the city center. The metro is poorly connected, only two lines so we had to take the public bus, and get jammed in traffic. Many tourist traps, and we skipped almost every attraction because of the crowd even though we had the tickets bought online. Food and wine are excellent :)

My first trip back to Rome since I was last there in the 1970's so much more congestion and much higher prices, of course. Our original plan was to stay outside the city proper and commute in by train on a daily basis but nagging travel related coughs and colds caused us to just stay in the hotel and recover, and we couldn't have found a better place to do that than here. The Fiumicino Airport is not easy to navigate and rental car access is complicated, plus the traffic is a major issue during the rush hour periods. We were in bumper to bumper, barely moving traffic in a taxi getting from rental car return to the hotel around 5 PM, a trip that took over an hour to go less than 10 miles. Same trip took 10-15 minutes mid-day a few days later.

Enjoyed seeing many of the historical sites of Rome.

Enjoyed seeing many of the historical sites of Rome. Were I to go again, I would go in the off season as the sheer volume of tourists during peak and shoulder seasons is astounding. I’d rather pack a winter coat and visit when it’s cold and there are fewer tourists. Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican…all amazing. Trevi fountain had a huge line of people wanting to see it and we did not wish to stand in line to get to the front of the fountain, so we enjoyed seeing it from a distance and moved on. The Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel were well worth seeing, but we took advantage of prior recommendations online to get early morning tickets due to the crowds later. Even with having 8:00 am tickets (at opening) the lines were long. I was astounded to see what the lines were when we exited though as they were clear down the street and around the corner to the next street. I was glad we went early. We decided not to go into St Peters though as the wait there was 2-3 hours long. I was disappointed but we enjoyed seeing the outside.

Rome is great and has a lot to offer .

Rome is great and has a lot to offer . Take time to study the public transport rules and ticket machines. Use only authorised taxis, Beware of street hustlers and careful in Rome Termini Station - it is always rammed. There are lots of tourists so try and avoid the crowds. I recommend booking a taxi to th airport when you leave but come in either on the bus or better still the train. Get a good Guide Book in advance and I recommend the CityMapper App. Oh, and learn some basic Italian - most Italians speak English but not all so if in doubt smile, smile, smile.

The room was simply gorgeous - soo spacious exceptionally clean and truly 5 stars! It was luxury and the bed the best we had across our 4 weeks in Italy! The location was good - easy to get busses everywhere or walk! The suites are super close to many beautiful restaurants and the lady that welcomed us was delightful. We would stay here again in a heart beat! Oh and the view from our room across Rome was perfect!

Fantastic, friendly and polite front desk staff. If it weren't for them, the stay would have been miserable. The location is also great. The movie atmosphere of the hotel is quite ok but you lose the atmosphere of Italy and Rome with this.
