Rome is special, one of a kind city, definitely worth visiting once or more in your lifetime. The only thing that bothered me were the huge crowds everywhere on the streets, especially around Trevi, Spanish Steps and Vatican. Be prepared of them. The only major point of criticism I have is the lack of clear wayfinding signage for key tourist sites. We loved the location and the private garden. Rome architecture is beyond belief. You need to have patience with reading the city maps and don't be afraid to use city buses for transport. Hop on and off is probably well worth it. Be very careful for pick pockets. They are fast and professional. Try to stay clear of crowded areas where you stand shoulder to shoulder, even at street crossings. Use a money belt or fanny pack. Try to take in a concert or art exhibit. They are reasonable. Hanging out in the Piazzas at night is favorite pass time for all ages. If you are there on a Sunday, take in the main Flea Market.
