Amazing little town full of character, history to see and...
Amazing little town full of character, history to see and good food! Nestled in the mountain range this town is a hub close to many other amazing small towns in the area. Known for their amazing prosciutto and Fruilano wine, this is a sure spot to visit for an easy stay. Bagatto prosciutto offered a great little tour, answering many questions, and had an amazing sampling of meat following. The tiramisu was also great! The person in the info/tourist office was very helpful and gave us lots of different sites to see. All were free to visit (church, old house, etc). Unfortunately not everything was open. Easy to park the car and walk around for the day! A beautiful little town.
A beautiful little town. We were planning our trip around a concert in Majano and a visit to Udine, so unfortunately we didn't really have a lot of time to explore San Daniele. But from what we've seen, it's a beautiful town with a lot of history and culture and of course the world famous gastronomy! Nice town of the best prosciutto and good wine at reasonable prices. Wonderful surroundings for visiting and exploring, especially for cycling. Could be reached very easily (by car), not far from Slovenia. Dinner in restaurant Da Catine at Aonedis was typically local (at very acceptable price), as well as the lunch at Dall Ava proscutifficio with excuisite prosciutto dishes. Lots of things to like…the tea room on the room level floor was nice. Coffee orders were taken during breakfast which was very nice and very yummy.
