I love this town.
I love this town. Rural enough to be off the beaten path with easy access by car (or bus) to Florence and Pisa. We loved the area. Wine and food abound. Seriously. Go to La Becherria for a great meal (or anywhere, really) and be sure to get some wine tasting in at the little spot at the corner. I have always been a huge Leonardo fan and visiting Vinci has long been on my bucket list. But on previous trips to Italy I had not been able to work it out. This time I made it a priority and I was not disappointed. Anyone who is an admirer of Leonardo's genius needs to see this town, the museums dedicated to him, the home he was born in and the museum dedicated to his artwork. The town itself is quaint and the people who live there are friendly and helpful. There are a number of good restaurants, including the one at the Leonardo museum.
