The hotel is very well located — just a 2-minute walk from Hashimoto Station. It’s an ideal base for visiting Koya-san, and only about 20 minutes by train to Kudoyama for those planning to hike the Choishi-michi route. There is also a Family Mart in front of the hotel and a very delicious bakery next door. The room was very clean, and I slept incredibly well. The hotel is run by a lovely couple who kindly let me check in early when I arrived to drop off my luggage, as the room was already ready. As a bit of a coffee lover, I also appreciated the nice coffee cup provided — it made my coffee time in the room even more enjoyable. Thank you so much! Next time I want to test the breakfast :)

Beautifully converted machiya in the centre of the historic district of Gojo. Absolutely incredible view over the river and mountains. The host gave perfect recommendations (go where he tells you, the Okonomiyaki and the cocktail bar were excellent) and even reserved places for us. A really exceptional and kind host who had thought of lots of ways to ensure the stay was perfect. Can’t say enough wonderful things, one of the best places we’ve stayed in Japan and definitely the best host. Only wish we’d stayed longer!

We stayed two nights at Nanten-En and everything was incredible. The location is super calm. You can enjoy silence and a nice walk around. The service was incredible, everyone was kind. We loved the attention to detail, especially the vintage record player with Japanese vinyls and how well stocked the kitchen was (oil, spices, rice, coffee etc. - the best we had in Japan!). Staff was very accommodating. Very spacious, perfect for our group. We had to change the group size due to a mistake of our own and it was very easy to resolve, thank you for that. We had a great time!
