Enjoyed the countryside scenery and driving without toll ways made it more interesting but longer. Get use to paid parking everywhere which is not expensive and ensure you have data roaming for gps. Driving is a breeze, 40klm speed limit max 80klm on expressway. Locals are courteous drivers and stickers for road rules. Google translate for help at petrol stations and elsewhere is ideal.

Visiting Peace Park and all the sights related to the atomic bombing. And even catch a J-League match between V-Varen Nagasaki and Oita Trinity. Nagasaki Stadium City is amazing! Love the design of the stadium and the match-going experience!

Nagasaki has a very interesting history.

Nagasaki has a very interesting history. It was the area in Japan that was the first to settle foreigners especially religious missionaries. Many churches and businesses were started there. I have lived in Tokyo for over 25 years, but seeing places outside of there such as Sapporo and Nagasaki among others gives a much wider view and impression of the country. Nagasaki is a must visit for anyone coming to experience Japan. It's really cool riding the many streetcars (trams) that run all over the city. There are many historical sites to visit which include ancient temples and the Atomic Bomb Museum. A can't miss museum is the site where the 26 martyrs were executed. They exhibit an actual letter written by St. Francis Xavier among others.

Small town with a lot of history. 1 full day was sufficient (2 nights). In the morning we visited the Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Park area. After lunch we ventured out to the Glover House, which is really very nice. It gives a good overview of the history of Nagasaki and Japan in general. The art museum would have been a nice add-on, but there was an imense queue so we skipped.

The night view at Mt Inasa is breathtaking.

The night view at Mt Inasa is breathtaking. Bring tripod and your best camera along. Jacket probably required if you are worried about winds and coldness. And this in summer, on a somewhat on and off drizzling night.

Nagasaki is one of the oldest cities in Japan and has a rich history of trading with Dutch and Portuegese, hidden Christians, Modernization dn of couse the horrible Abomb. We went to the Peace Museum and they do not pull any punches in describing the devastation wreaked on the civilian population from the ABomb. There were lots of school children and lots f positive learning. Don't skip this amazing city when you come to Japan.

Private room was cheaper than a dorm bed would have been on the weekend in Fukuoka. It was small but well equipped and clean, this hotel is high standard for a very good rate, excellent value! Nagasaki is a very beautiful city, worth to spend a few days there and Hotel Wing Port is the perfect base. Location is also great, steps from the JR station and next to the coach terminal, in the very centre between all the attractions.

Staff were superb, Location was a short walk from Chinatown and close to the Gunkanjima Digital Museum and Pier. Only a short distance on bus /tram to Nagasaki Station. The room and hotel exceeded our expectations. Fantastic value for money. Would have expected to pay far more for the service we got.

Everything was great as always. APA hotels are my preferred choice when it comes to stay in Japan. Nagasaki APA Dejima is not only comfortable but also it’s close to the main train station and monorail stations making it very convenient for traveling through the city.
