Such a beautiful city. Surrounding burbs Awesome!

Such a beautiful city. Surrounding burbs Awesome! Put like this. Prada, Gucci, Lois Vitton, Armani, the list long. Why go to hectic Tokyo when Nagoya offers all the rich city life without the intensity of Tokyo. I was highly impressed. I have travelled a great deal. I liked this city better than New York, Chicago, Atlanta, LA. So beautiful, easy to navigate, wonderful to walk around. Surrounding burbs so beautiful! One last thought, all the US cities listed are dirty, trash laden, crime filled destinations. New York smells like a sewer, scaffolding that NEVER ENDS, piles of trash at night, a nighmare. I don't see this in Japan.

Nagoya is a really nice city, very easy to get around and much less crowded than the other big cities. There are a number of things to do such as, visit the huge planetarium, the Tokugawa gardens, the Noritake museum to see the beautiful ceramics. There are also Ghibli Park and Legoland for families and the castle is lovely. From Nagoya there is easy access to many other places such as Takeyama and Shirakawago.

Nagoya is a treasure for eating and shopping.

Nagoya is a treasure for eating and shopping. LOTS of great restaurants. There's the science museum, the Toyota museum, and Nagoya Castle. No "authentic" neighborhoods to explore, though there is an ethnic shopping street near Kamimaezu Station. There are lots of traditional Japanese coffee shops "kissaten" to relax in if that's your thing. If you venture away from downtown there are places like Shirotori Gardens or Arimatsu on the historical Tokaido Road which was a center of indigo dyeing. No restaurants though in the 800 m length of the neighborhood.

Unsure of what to expect but the city is full of life.

Unsure of what to expect but the city is full of life. Amazing shopping in Osu Shotengai District, the castle, the food options (as in most if Japan), Kako Coffee House ogura toast (long queue but yummy) and most delicious sake I tried was in Nagoya. Only stayed for one full day really but very enjoyable. (Also hosts some of the sumo matches! Didn't even have time to visit the Science Museum...

Nagoya is often overlooked but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Stayed here for 2 nights but wish we stayed more. We did one day Legoland and one day Nagoya Science museum. If we had stayed longer, we could've visited the Nagoya Aquarium, the MagLev museum and the Toyota museum. We took the Hinotori train from Osaka which had a more luxurious interior than the Shinkansen. I'll come back to explore Nagoya and surrounding more.

The hotel is pretty new and very clean. Automated check-in/out with minimal contacts with the staffs. Staffs speaks Japanese but very helpful. Free breakfast provided has a good spread of varieties. Hotel provides free coffee, self serve at your convenience. Room was bigger than hotel in Tokyo, comfortable bed and bathroom. Nagoya was snowing on one morning, it was beautiful. At Nagoya station, take the Taikoi-dori exit, turn right, cut through the construction site, cross the road and walk straight ahead.

The room was surprisingly spacious to me. Unlike other similar hotels, there was also a table with chairs provided, along with a large wide-screen TV. It's possible to cast your mobile phone to the screen. The staff were friendly and helpful, and understand English. The hotel provides a complimentary buffet breakfast. The hotel has modern aesthetics and is well maintained. There are USB and wireless charging points provided. It's within walking distance to Nagoya Station.

We had a comfortable, no fuss stay. Good location - around 10-min walk to Nagoya station, many great food/cafe options close by. There's a convenience store across the street. Reception staff were friendly and spoke good English. Not a fancy hotel by any means, but we expected it given the price paid. Good value for money. We appreciated that they had umbrellas for guests to borrow when it rained.

Hotel was quick walk from the main Nagoya station. We spoke with 2 receptionists, one did not understand very well English, but the other did and was really nice. I would recommend this hotel for 1 max 2 nights, especially for business trips, not for tourists with large luggage.

Directly above Nagoya train station so very convenient. The department store below, Takashimaya, was a it disappointing compared to the one I stayed above fvor my trip to Osaka, when I stayed in another JR hotel.
