This is a beautiful and very large accommodation (an entire house), that seems to be taken right out of an interior design magazine! It is clear that the owners and beautifully carefully renovated an old traditional Japanese house. It is a joy to stay here! Night skies are especially beautiful.

There is a choice of two accommodations, either traditional approx 100 year old japanese house (tatami, futon) or modern but cozy cabin, all at sole disposal. The onsen was fantastic. We enjoyed the family bath that night and took a quick dip in the morning. The beds were very comfortable, giving us both a good night's sleep. It was great to lounge around in the supplied yukatas and winter jacket, taking in the spectacular scenery of the river. Although we can not speak any Japanese, we were able to communicate with the owner.

The CrossFit Tiny House was a charming little abode in the outskirts of Iya Valley. Connected to a well stocked CrossFit gym, it provided us with everything we needed, a well equipped kitchen, clean and comfortable bathing facilities, cozy sleeping and a peaceful environment to use as a base to explore the valley for a few days. We also participated in a mobility class in the gym free of charge as guests of the house and the owners were kind and helpful 🙂
