Fantastic Stay – Convenient, Clean & Thoughtful! I had a wonderful experience at this guest house and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! 1️⃣ Great Location: The place is super convenient—just a short walk from the station and close to major attractions. There’s even a Lawson convenience store nearby, making it easy to grab snacks or essentials. 2️⃣ Spotlessly Clean: The room and shared spaces were immaculate, which made my stay very comfortable. It’s clear that the host takes hygiene seriously! 3️⃣ Thoughtful Amenities: I was impressed by how well-stocked the place was—they provided everything from body lotion and makeup remover to deodorizing spray. We had a lovely welcome even though it was a late check in, and he did very well with little English. Even though we were only staying one night, he made us feel very welcome and showed us all the property details. It was a short walk from the train station, with bikes available. The property itself is beautiful and we loved the traditional touches. He even left some Japanese snacks in the room for us. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!!!

Beautiful old-style guesthouse right next to Hayatama Taisha. The location is absolutely amazing. Hayatama Taisha is literally steps away from the front door. There are river views from the room and the tatami floor rooms are beautiful.

A whole house to ourselves. Large space, everything you needed is equipped and provided. The location is strategic, just 2 minutes walk from/to bus stop. Room is spacious and clean, warm and cozy. Bed is comfortable as well. Host is nice and responsive. Alot snacks and drinks provided which really warm our hearts. Recommended this, good value for money.

Light and airy. Central to everything including just a short walk to the Shingu train station and it was super easy to catch a bus to go to the Nachi Taisha Grand Shribe. We literally walked 50 metres down the road to catch the Number 11 bus, then had a coffee at Nachi Station cafe and caught the number 31 bus to the shrine. So simple. Oh and there’s a cafe with a 50s milk bar theme up a few side streets that serves amazing pizzas with a Japanese twist - try the Teriyaki chicken pizza - Yummo

    Shingu is a small coastal town with few hills which is a wonderful to find after 10 days hiking on the mountainous Kumano Kodo pilgrimage walks. One of the 3 Great Shrines is here and very accessible whether walking or driving. Getting to and from Shingu is very easy with the train station and bus station being together in the center of town. It is a good base for reaching the other 2 Great Shrines of the Kumano Kodo at Hongu and Nachisan. There are a number of good eateries in the town but one of the joys was just wandering down laneways and discovering little gems not listed in the usual guides.
