    Bessho Onsen is a beautiful location in the Ueda region, giving you easy access to a rural Japan and feeling straight out of a Ghibli movie! The ryokan was nicely located in the heart of the town, although with large luggage it's tough hill climb from the local train station. Staff were all very nice and tried to help us as much as they could with their limited English. The rooms are extremely spacious and clean.

    The staff were lovely. The food was some of the best we've had so far in 2 weeks across Japan staying at similar priced Onsens. The baths were amazing. The tech in the Onsen uses your mobile phone for QR code access to the property, to contact staff and to see when the baths were available - it was very convenient.

    Very new hotel. Very cloe to the station. All amenities were there. Price is very reasonable. Machine check-in and a staff helped to push the right buttons, but even without him, the checkin process is extremely smooth. The breakfast (included in the price) was excellent.
