The villa which is next to Choc Beach is an exceptional villa to stay at. The staff, including the owner, were fantastic. The villa offers on-demand taxi and activity reservations, fully equipped rooms with kitchen facilities, and a convenient on-site restaurant. Overall, it was a memorable and luxurious experience. Rosemond and Sherice were fantastic hosts and were incredibly welcoming. The apartment itself was large and impeccably clean with some nice details such as colored LED lights below the bed and in the kitchen. The AC worked great, but I also enjoyed leaving the windows open for a nice breeze and listening to the rain :) Rosemond set me up with a car rental and was extremely helpful with a ton of recommendations for things to do, places to see, local products to try, etc. He really went out of his way to share the island with me. While I appreciated having a car to get to dive sites and other towns, the apartment is centrally located and easy walking distance to a beach, the cruise port, and the central market. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe both in the apartment and in Castries in general. I can’t recommend this stay highly enough- I would love to come back for longer!

    If you want to get around to other islands and Gros Islet Street Party, make sure you negotiate the price for a round trip. Make SURE you emphasize round trip. Some taxi men are so money hungry and will give you a price of round trip, but then try and tell you they meant one way. DON'T let them do that. Get clear clarification for your round trip.

    Castries is a harsh city. Not violet.

    Castries is a harsh city. Not violet. But difficult to spend time in. It's not setup for tourists who are not in a resort or on a cruise. There are very few sit-down atmospheric restaurants and bars. It's a city for the locals and its a poor community. Everyone I met was very nice and friendly. They are wonderful people. But it's not what you might call 'charming'. The roads and traffic are a nightmare and a day here is enough. Rodney Bay is a much more vacation friendly place. I mostly enjoyed my stay here, but be prepared for confronting the results of colonial abuse and corruption. Frankly the locals are demonstrating a high degree of humility, love and forgiveness despite what our western ancestors have done to them, and are still doing. I learned something very important about western entitlement by staying here.

    Castries town centre is charming with a nice market and...

    Castries town centre is charming with a nice market and several excellent restaurants. People of St.Lucia are really friendly and always happy to help you out. There are plenty of shops stocking local and some international goods, especially the shops on-route to Rodney Bay. Choc beach near Castries was beautiful, clean & quiet with very calm sea waves. Excellent for swimming including children. We found the beach to be very quiet all day long with only a handful of people passing by, so ideal for sunbathing too. The Sunsets are magical.

    I enjoyed the Cacoa Chocolate Factory and the chocolate.

    I enjoyed the Cacoa Chocolate Factory and the chocolate. The mud bath; the water falls the botanical gardens and the Piton mountains. It’s mountainous which makes for very beautiful views of the island.

    I enjoyed Castries.

    I enjoyed Castries. Getting around is an adventure - coming from a place where we drive on the other side of the road. It's not difficult to adjust. The people, in general, are mostly friendly. Except for restaurants, no one takes larger bills and the banks close early. The food was great everywhere we went and it's a beautiful island! I'll certainly vacation here again!

The Castries Market is a must-visit, brimming with vibrant colors and local flavors. The warmth and friendliness of the locals truly stand out, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Exploring the city's cultural landmarks and enjoying its delicious cuisine added to our wonderful experience.     Loved our stay here. The flat was a good size and had all the amenities we needed to stay independently. Roland and his partner were amazing hosts, very friendly with tips and advice for getting around the island, giving us lifts into town when they were going and always on hand when we needed anything. Location is a little remote but a 10/15 minute bus to Castries where you can get around the rest of the island. Would recommend to anyone who wanted to do an independent trip to the island.

    Had a lovely stay here with no problems, the staff were so friendly and helpful and the location was great - not too far from town (about a 15 min walk from the centre, just down a very steep hill!) so good access to the bus system that can take you round the island. And the view of Castries from the balcony is breathtaking. Will definitely return and stay longer someday soon.

    A little gem, tucked away in a quiet corner next to the Millennium Highway. Castries is right nextdoors.
