You have to leave your car on a parking spot from where you're transfered few kms by a jeep. We haven't had any issues with the natural noise of waterfall and felt asleep as soon as our heads touched pillows. The house is simple yet comfortable. The hot water might have been a bit hotter though. Breakfast and dinner were fine. People working there are nice and friendly.

I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!

We loved this place! The views were amazing and the atmosphere was peaceful and calming. We visited the Sinharaja Forest Reserve during our stay and our host did an amazing job by organizing the whole trip there, he made everything really easy for us. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone who wants a little getaway from the busy coastline and loves nature.

Amazing location in green area. We spotted several animals while just sitting on the balcony (including monkeys, peacocks and kingfisher). The owners are very friendly and helpful, they made our stay very comfortable.

I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. Overall, it’s a great place for anyone visiting the area, whether for research or leisure. Highly recommended!

I had a great stay at the Glitz Marriott. Ananda and his family are great hosts, really nice, attentive and excellent cooks. I originally planned to stay one night but extended my stay. The room was large, clean and quiet. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea can be taken on the covered terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding rice fields. Ananda is also a very good guide, we did an expedition in the Sinharaja forest and saw a lot of animals. Ananda also organised a visit to a tea factory and took me to see the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The streak of perfect reviews seemed too good to be true - but make no mistake, this is one of the best homestays I’ve experienced in years. Location: Perfect, right in nature’s heart. Apartment: Beautifully built and spotlessly clean. Food: Some of the best I had in 4 weeks across Sri Lanka. Price: the price of the whole package is unmatched in the area. Don’t worry about the lack of nearby restaurants or supermarkets - you won’t need them. Staying here feels like being at your favorite family members, where every meal is a highlight. Every morning, I woke up excited for the day ahead, with Prabath sharing his favorite hiking trails and passing down his family’s deep local knowledge. We stayed in Ravindra’s cabin for 5 nights. We had an amazing time. The cabin is clean and cute, very comfortable bed, hot shower. It’s in a super authentic Sri Lankan village, surrounded by tea plants, just next to a river with a natural swimming pool. Most of the time you have the river all to yourself, sometimes you get to meet the locals which is a nice experience. The food Ravindra serves is amazing!! You get to taste some delicious and authentic rice and curry. It was a chance to discover some vegetables and fruit that we never tried. It’s definitely worth to book a wildlife tour of the Sinharaja Rainforest, we saw snakes, lizards, spiders, scorpions and monkeys. The tea factory is also worth a visit. Night walk in the jungle with Ravindra was also fun! All in all, an amazing experience. Sri Lanka is a beautiful island, make the effort to get off the beaten track and you will be rewarded. And Ravindra is a super friendly host, meeting him was just lovely.

This place is amazing! We totally fell in love wit this place. We booked the big family room upstairs and it is really big with a very nice balcony with amazing views on the river and jungle. The outside lounge bed/swing was favorite by our kids. Breakfast and diner was also great. The owners organised also a tour to Sinharaja rainforest for us with a very good guide. Cooling down in the river in front of the hotel with al the little waterfalls made it perfect. Very good value for your money!
