This place doesn’t look much from the outside, I was a little dubious when I first arrived. However the people running the place are really lovely and allowed me early checkin, I only wanted to leave my bag, and gave me a welcome tea. Rooms are basic but extremely clean, comfortable, warm, quiet and have hot water in bathroom. They even left me a breakfast pack to take with me on my 6am train. Easy walk to train station.

Everything. It’s like staying in a European chalet. A real change in Sri Lanka at over 6,000 ft., was a little cool in the evenings, but delightful. The owner is a very nice guy who lived in Italy for a few years, thus the name. Hotel is very clean, price is very reasonable and perched on a hill with a magnificent view. Highly recommend!

Such a beautiful place run by beautiful people. The misty mountain view from our room was so beautiful and reminiscent of our home town in the Nilgiris hills. The monkeys that came into the backyard were a delight to watch.The place is spotless.. Roshan and Amilini were very caring hosts and accomodated all our needs. You have to get your meals from outside shops

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!
