The villa very close to the Welligama beach which is ideal if you want to have some drinks with some breeze looking at surfers or book some surfing lessons (well worth it!). There are also a number of food courts. Most importantly, the staff make you feel very welcome. Not only do they provide good service (what you expect from a Villa), but they are also observant and friendly. Even though we went as a couple, I think this Villa is well worth for Families, friends or solo travelers because of the friendly staff and the beautiful location. The Breakfast was amazing my stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The entire property felt well maintained. The Pool is cleaned frequently and nice. We definitely will return to this great Villa.

Very good location: 5 min to Weligama beach and surf spot, a lot of cafes around but located at quite street. The host Dilipha is very friendly and always helps when you ask. Even cooked for me food when I was sick. She is not good in English, so sometimes we use translator to communicate. But often it don’t needed I’m in love with the shower under the sky. Also kitchen area looking very nice. There you can cook or chill or even work. Everywhere is very clean. They do cleaning of common areas every morning

We were there 4 nights during off season.

We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place.

If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place. But (compared to other places in SL) it’s pretty dull. Half the beach is a litter-strewn dump rest is tolerable if you’re surfing. Precious little else to do.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Shan Star! Shan couldn't have been more helpful, kind and accommodating. He went the extra mile to make sure we were happy, and just generally offered an outstanding service. This accommodation is unbeatable on price, and is the best value for money hotel we stayed in while visiting Sri Lanka. The breakfast was also great, with delicious fruit picked from the garden itself! Shan organised a great snorkelling excursion for us, which was fantastic too. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Best place to stay in Midigama/Weligama area. Super clean and very comfortable room. Really nice location right in front of the beach. ( close to the main surf spots! ) Friendly staff, really helpful and amazing breakfast. Restaurant available with nice food ( Sri Lankan traditional/western/vegetarian) and rooftop bar with amazing view! They also do scooter rental, taxi service and the bus stop is 2 min walk so easy to move in the area. Felt like at home, I’ll be back for sure. Thank you!

Beautiful hotel with brand-new, comfortable rooms. Ours had a lovely little balcony. Well situated a few minutes from Weligama beach and easy access to surrounding beaches. Enrico was very friendly and helpful. He is opening a restaurant on the roof in a few weeks - the terrace looks beautiful so we would love to come back and test it!
