It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. We visited Yala for two days (with two separate game drives - one evening and one morning one) and although we enjoyed the animals we observed, we did not have any sightings of leopards despite being the national park with the highest concentration in the world. But that is nature so we were just unlucky on those days. However, the most disappointing aspect of Yala was the sheer number of vehicles allowed into the park at one time. As soon as elephants or leopards are sighted, drivers communicate among themselves and vehicles all rush to the scene creating a massive traffic jams. Terrible time. No wild animals as expected. Roads are all around the jungle which is pretty disturbing to the wild life. After all it is supposed to be a protected zone for wild life. Jeeps are crawling every corner of the territory. Amused to see all of that disturbing scenes in a wild life protected zone. It's like business zone. I loved Yala.
I loved Yala. The number of different animals seen was slightly disappointing but apparently wash outs due to rain prevented us from accessing some internal roads. The room was big and comfortable, with air con, great shower and was very clean. WiFi connection was good. Restaurant was delicious, the packed lunch for safari was fine and plentiful. Really nice pool, pool bar, archery, croquet, air rifles The hotel also organised us a safari, which was 30 mins drive from the hotel to gate 1. We loved our stay here seeing all the wildlife roaming through the grounds of the hotel. We saw wild boar, crocodiles in the lake and water buffalo to name a few. The staff went over and above to organise us a safari at short notice which we were very grateful for and we were lucky enough to see a leopard. From the moment we arrived, Ishan and the team really looked after us. The rooms and hotel in general are absolutely gorgeous. Huge comfy beds, lovely big bathrooms and private little pool areas. The location is great for visiting Yala National Park. It is really peaceful right by beautiful lake - we saw an amazing sunset from the rooftop one evening.
