Vilnius old town is very beautiful.
Vilnius old town is very beautiful. Lots of different beautiful churches, lots of great restaurants and bars. We spent a week there and it was just right for us. During this week we also visited Trakai ( for the castle ) and Kaunas ( for Devil's museum and Chiurlionis museum ). Out of Vilnius museums we liked the Palace of the Grand Dukes for its historical exposition and the Jewish museum for its exceptional Samuel Bak's art works. Also the children memorial in jewish museum is heart shattering and was very emotional for us. Other museums were not that impressive.Guest review bySlaviIsrael - 10.0

What a lovely, historical city.
What a lovely, historical city. And happily it’s pretty flat so great for walking around. We recommend two walking tours with Only Locals — one was the Soviet occupation tour (fascinating and eye-opening), and the other was the tour of what was the Jewish quarter before the war that became the Jewish ghetto once the city was occupied. Vilnius is a beautiful European city with a storied history. Compared to many other European cities, Vilnius is safe day and night. Lithuanians are friendly towards visitors. Location good, just a short walk and you will get to Old town. Lots of restaurats and caféet nearby. It costs only 0,80 euro to travel with train from airport to town, very cheap and easy. We like Vilnuis a lot, many nice old buildings, good food, good museums (KGB museum very interesting), it felt very safe all the time.
