I really enjoyed my time in Skopje and honestly wish I had...
I really enjoyed my time in Skopje and honestly wish I had stayed longer, but that just gives me a reason to return! The city has a fascinating mix of cultures, sights, and history, all packed into a very walkable and atmospheric capital. I didn’t need to use public transport at all, I walked everywhere easily. I believe there are buses connecting the city and the airport, but within the city itself, everything I wanted to see was within walking distance. I especially loved the area around the bridges and the Old Bazaar, where you can find charming little shops and cozy coffee spots. The city is affordable by European standards and has a lot to offer without feeling overwhelming. For solo travelers, I highly recommend joining a free walking tour with Free Skopje Walking Tours, they were amazing and really helped me connect with the city. As for food, try Eski Burek Shop for a tasty breakfast and Gostilnica Turist (right across from Eski) for a great lunch or dinner. Skoplje is simply amazing :)
Skoplje is simply amazing :) We expected to see the kitsch capital of this part of the world, but didn't think that it would be to this extent. Also, now I can understand Greeks' feelings about it. The second main point is Čaršija. It is big and attractive. Skopje is a mix of everything. They decided to "borrow" different things from different places, in a strange way.
