Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed enormously in the last 25 years, I think it is still one of the most charming parts of Malta. There are dozens of bars and restaurants, a fair few of which I have visited and every one was excellent. I could not fault the village in any way I would certainly recommend this as a holiday destination. Although very hilly, I believe that is part of its charm and I have stayed in other parts of Malta, all of which have their own attraction.Guest review byMcLennan - 10.0

We booked an airport pick up and drop off which was amazing value for money, on time and air conditioned. Other than the hills, this is a great little town.
Other than the hills, this is a great little town. The food, especially the seafood, was delicious everywhere we went. The people were very friendly and helpful. There is good history in the area (WWII tunnels and churches in town, the Red Tower just outside of it), nice beaches on the bay (about 5 minute bus ride or 20 minute walk), the ferry to Gozo is easily accessible (10 minute bus ride), and the Popeye Village is a quick bus ride away, too. Mellieha bay has a few nice restaurants and bars close to beach.Noras had lovely food and great bar with friendly staff. The town is up a steep hill with more restaurants and few bars. We used Mellieha as a base for travelling around the rest of Malta - it's handy because there's a nice beach there (if that's your thing) and plenty of eating places. There are boat trips and water sports available from the bay. In terms of local attractions, there are a couple of museums and St. Agatha's Tower is worth a visit (visible from the bay at the top of the hill). We visited in June, and would recommend you don't leave it later than that - the heat would be excessive in July and August. Architecturally, Mellieha is a real mix (like the rest of Malta), with a mixture of ancient buildings and modern high rise apartments / flats, catering for tourists. I think staying in a private holiday apartment is a much better choice than hotel resorts. It is much cheaper and you have a lot more privacy and get to know locals better. This is not something you can do if you stay in fancy resorts. Amazing seafront view, spacious areas, well-equipped with everything you need, quiet location. The two pools, sauna and gym were small, but nice. Our room was very large & even had small kitchen facilities, though we only used the fridge. The view from the roof pool was very nice - not so good from lower floors, but you have to expect this as in Malta towns the streets are very narrow & buildings very close together.
