Acapulco is very Mexican, by that I mean that it is very different from Cancun. If you are looking to see an authentic Mexican Beach town, this is the place. People here are resillient, they have endured the economic downturn from the Covid 19 pandemic and a Cat 5 hurricane. As in every place, it has bad areas. The combination of mountains and beach makes Acapulco unique. Loved all the rock formations and the green of the mountains and hills. It is full of history too. Acapulco was the main port for Spanish ships that carried shipments from the Phillipines then taken to Mexico City and Veracruz for the final destination, Spain. The history is in the City's Fort San Diego an pentagon shape fort right by the seawall. With the damage from Hurricane Otis, many yours businesses may not recover.
