George Town has a great range of options for accomodation and dining. There are dozens of heritage hotels and guest houses as well as modern hotels and airbnbs. There is food of many different kinds: hawker stalls, coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars all provide a variety of options at a range of price points. For transport, the town is more or less navigable by foot, and, depending on the time of day and time of year, Grab works well and is relatively inexpensive. The town also contains a number of interesting museums and historical buildings. The food was the stand-out attraction for me; the variety, quality and availability was exceptional. You can go from breakfast on the side of the street for 7 MYR all the way to Michelin-star restaurants (can't speak for them though!), but everything has it's charm. The weather was very favourable and everyone was welcoming. It is a popular tourist destination, so if you're looking to get away from other tourists I wouldn't recommend it, but there's plenty to see and do.Guest review byTobyKenya

Perfect location as it was easy to walk to the main food markets, temples, boutiques and other tourist spots as well as Komtar (the mall and the bus station for buses to the airport or Penang Hill). The room had no window but never felt too dark. It was spacious, well designed and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have English TV channel.
