We spent two nights here…it was the right amount of time to...
We spent two nights here…it was the right amount of time to view animals in Etosha National Park. The terrain here (unlike Numatoni) is vast and flat. Animals are few and far between but with persistance and great binoculars we spotted a Black Rhinocerous, elephants, zebra, springbok, oryx, giraffe, ostriches, and 1 lion, all during daylight hours. The food is best OUTSIDE the park. There is NO fuel in the ENTIRE park! The “Trading Post” is the nearest fuel to this village (less than 10km). We were disappointed by the extremely bad roads in the park. There is no information about the rugged dirt roads in the park. We were happy to leave the park without an accident or car broken. It is quite a big lodge, but it feels more like a boutique or family run hotel. Individualists and bus tours, singles, couples, and families will all feel welcome here. Super comfy, super affordable, surpassing expectations. The food was also really good. Dinner was a buffet with the kitchen staff singing everybody evening. There is a lot of wildlife in the hotel gardens/grounds and that is really the selling ticket for me --- one shouldn't have to go to a park to see wildlife in Africa. Multiple pools on the property depending on where your room is, we were closer to the reception so we used the main one which had a nice view.
