The history and quirkiness. The colour scheme - the old architectural details - lack of adherence to modern expectations - lovely staff - relaxed atmosphere - clean. My room hadn't a view - but it didn't matter cause the hotel is smack bang in the middle of all the good stuff in the city!!

This is the best hotel I have stayed at so far. From a friendly greeting at reception, good sized well appointed room and comfortable, great bathroom. The location was within walking distance to city centre. As mobility impaired I did not go out at night, the attached restaurant was perfect as was the breakfast. And service very attentive.

    Nice breakfast and dinner. No lift and difficult staircase. In need of full renovation. Towels very much worn, in need of replacement. Free parking around the hotel and the central square 24/7. Around 10km from Groningen. It could be cheaper. Recomended; Not sure.

    Very nice hotel in the center of Bedum. Basic rooms, clean and comfortable but not luxurious. Very nice and friendly staff. Good facilities in the hotel and a remarkable good kitchen for dinner (especially) and breakfast.
