FAQs about hotels in Maastricht

International, Yet Unique

One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, picturesque Maastricht has an international feel. Not only can you walk to Belgium and cycle to Germany, this town also gave birth to the European Union and euro following the 1992 Maastricht Treaty.

Its largest square – Vrijthof – houses the twin churches of St Jan and St Servaas, a theatre and several pavement cafes. Various festivals and the Magic Maastricht Christmas markets are also held here. Markt square is home to the Flemish-style town hall, a twice-weekly market and yet more restaurants and bars offering great nightlife.

The excellent shopping options in Maastricht include unique shops on the cobbled Old Town streets, exclusive boutiques on Stokstraat, and the Entre Deux and Mosae Forum shopping centres. Dotted amongst these is Booking.com’s wide range of Maastricht accommodation.

Well-preserved city walls surround the Old Town and run close to the Maas River where boat trips are available. Underground are the Casemates, a visitable maze of defensive tunnels used in times of siege, while on the city’s outskirts are the St Pietersberg Caves, former World War II shelters with intriguing wall art.

Before flying out of Maastricht Aachen Airport, don’t miss the fine art by Rubens and Van Dyck in the Bonnefanten Museum, a modern building reflecting the area’s pottery heritage.

We took a walk from the hotel over the bridge.

We took a walk from the hotel over the bridge. We sat on the terrace of the café Vogel Struys, which is the oldest café of Maastricht and visited the St Servaes church which is across the Vrijthof. Afterwards we went back to the hotel until it was time for supper. We had supper at the restaurant Comedie. This was good, but expensive. The next morning we walked to the Bonnefanten museum, which is situated near the river Maas. This is a beautiful museum, with lost of interesting expositions. We had lunch at the museum restaurant.

Vibrant, quaint and clean town with plenty of bars and restaurants Mainstream and boutique stores to rival any high street or shopping mall in any other city that we have visited (even larger cities such as Frankfurt or Lisbon) Compact layout makes it easy to get around on foot or by bike Easily accessible by train Bookstore Dominicanen is well worth a visit

Maastricht is a charming medieval city with cobblestone streets and distinctive architecture, including houses that date as far back as 1670. The city offers a unique shopping experience and an impressive selection of restaurants. Visitors can also enjoy a boat tour along the Meuse River.

Maastricht is a fantastic beautiful city.

Maastricht is a fantastic beautiful city. It's peaceful, clean, tidy and with lots of amenities. It has an old historic medieval centre, and a more modern centre, good restaurants and other shops. It feels like its citizens have a very good decent life. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Everyone spoke English. We felt welcomed and had a wonderful time. I would like to go back and be able to spend a few days longer to get to know the city better.

Maastricht is a beautiful, quaint, pedestrian friendly city with cobblestones streets, al fresco dining, wonderful shopping, heritage, architecture and much much more. Take a walk along the city wall, have coffee by the river, visit the beautiful churches, tour the university, shop, eat, chill...so much to do (and English is common). Enjoy!

Maastricht is a beautiful, Italian like atmosphere City in the south of the Netherlands that should be next to Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam if you are visiting the Netherlands for a short holiday, as it is so different from any other Dutch city. It has many historical places, lots of culture and folkore, amazing green parks and great food traditions. Try the famous "vlaai"!

Close proximity to the city centre. Really good breakfast 🤤 Room was spacious and clean. Liked the option of not having to have the room cleaned every day (you received a voucher for a drink when using this option). Did not use the wellness or fitness facilities. Good value for money and I would definitely come back to this hotel again.

The location of the hotel was great. Just 5 minutes walk to the heart of Maastricht city centre. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly! We had a studio and we were provided a set of cooking supplies ( we have asked this prior to our arrival), so we could cook a few meals in our room.
