Tonsberg has a nice centre with many restaurants to chose from especially along the harbour (still busy at weekends in late August) and a pretty promenade along the fjord to Nordbyen. Disappointing stay in Tønsberg – poor hospitality and zero accountability My experience in Tønsberg was ruined by an unacceptable apartment booking situation. The host canceled on arrival due to “double-booking,” gave no assistance, and the alternative accommodation was dirty and poorly managed. It’s shocking that in a busy summer town like Tønsberg, some hosts feel entitled to treat visitors this way – with no responsibility or professionalism.
