Beautiful, peaceful, idyllic location right by the water at Queen Charlotte Sound. We enjoyed walking the last leg of the famous Queen Charlotte track, which was a wonderful, relatively easy track offering superb views. Jumped off the jetty for a swim in the sound and within 2 mins having a hot shower at the apartment. Tanya and Shayne could not have made us more welcome. They clearly enjoy sharing their piece of paradise, and their enthusiasm is addictive. Very comfortable bed, great shower, well equipped kitchen, peaceful sleep. Don't hesitate to book and stay as long as you possibly can. You won't regret it! We've stayed in some gorgeous places in the South Island and this one was our favourite. Sufficient space, had everything we needed & drove us back to the railway station at the end of our stay which was really appreciated. The staff were very helpful & cheerful, just very nice & welcoming.

This is a very small hotel (only 3 rooms) which only adds to its charm. Its location in the centre of Picton is an additional benefit as it is only a couple of minutes' walk from shops and nearby facilities.The old world style of decor ,the large rooms which are spotless and supremely comfortable has to be experienced. The restaurant is closed for evening meals , but the welcome touch of a wine and cheese plate is a unique touch. Breakfast is offered and sets you up for the day ahead. I would love to stay here again.

    Make sure you take insect repellent to keep the sandflies away! The beach is very safe and so refreshing on the hot day we were there. The early morning dawn chorus of the local native birds was amazing

    It is a great place if you like walking and at the same time...

    It is a great place if you like walking and at the same time want to relax. The break fast was excellent with amazing views whilst you eat. It was possibly to drive to either Picton or Havelock for restaurants as well as arranging boat trips for fishing or sight seeing. We saw many dolphins on a trip to the bird sanctuary.Their is a local pub where you can have a meal and meet the locals. The only disadvantage if you wanted fine dinning then you had to drive to Picton which took thirty minutes.

    Looking out the big front window at the bay, the boats, the mountains, and the manicured front yard is spectacular. Very well equipped and thoughtful touches. Spotlessly clean. Easy access to the Queen Charlotte Track, the waterfront, and a reasonable drive to surrounding towns and attractions.
