We found it very relaxing for ourselves and our children.beutiful views excellent facility's and children friendly.we had quick response from hosts.the home is very clean warm and co.fortable..this is a 2 story home with people living down stairs who u share a driveway with.we had 2 vehicles and had no drama wot so ever.highly recommend this as a tranquil place to visit with family and friends.we hope to visit again thanku

Holiday Adventurers, I am Swiss living a life of Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and Ritz Carlton for the past 6 decades. Retired now I am on a 140 day New Zealand A to Z adventure. I began from Auckland International Airport heading north toward Cape Reinga NZ's northern tip. Accommodations got worse the further north I went. Search after Search zero then out of the Booking.Com huge offering pages popped Doubtless Bay Villas !! Pictures can be Hollywood but I felt that this was real so I took a shot and paid a month in advance for 14 days. After a 6 hour drive I pulled into the development following the perfect instructions provided. I never take anything out of the car until I have walked through a property. I walked into the first floor and went WOW ! Second floor WOW !! Perfect is all I can say. I spent two weeks living in a beautiful post card !! A special mention to the staff !! Mark and Jane went so far to support me that they offered unbelievable unexpected goodies like an assortment of Nespresso Capsules etc etc If you hope for a 5 star experience at 3 star prices Mark and Jane's Doubtless Bay Villas is the way to go when traveling north of Auckland !!! The apt was beautifully furnished the beds were devine and so comfy...the location was just what we asked for with amazing sunsets and views...loved we had a washing machine and dryer...and a full kitchen...everything was well thought out for comfort...the host was so willing and so helpful...would absolutely book here again..the location was ideal as it was close to visit all the places we hoped to get to...Whauwhiwhi...Ahipara...90 mile beach..

It was a super lovely location an hour from Kerikeri airport. We cooked one night and went to mangonui for dinner (about 10 min drive) the other night. We went to Carringtons one night too, but I definitely do NOT recommend doing that.

There is a fantastic beach on the Karikari peninsula, white...

There is a fantastic beach on the Karikari peninsula, white sand and crystal clear water. Cable bay beach is also great. Coopers beach was more difficult to access. The street food van called Mama Sue had really good food.

Soul retreat has a gorgeous position.

Soul retreat has a gorgeous position. It overlooks the water and has views from most windows. It is very well equipped. The driveway is exceptionally steep with quite a difficult garage to access. However the drivers became practised in the manoeuvre and it wasn't a problem. Minor inconveniences include the positioning of the fridge door which blocks access to the kitchen and that the large dinner plates that don't fit in the dishwasher. Otherwise this is an excellent accommodation and I highly recommend it. Close by Manganoui is a sweet place to visit. The fish and chips are excellent but be warned....pricey.

Very quiet will beautiful views of the ocean. Very clean with all required amenities. Convenient as a jumping off point to head to Cape Reinga. Tour buses pick up just down the street was very convenient and allowed for a relaxing day as opposed to self drive. Only thing I would mention is that the studio was at the lower level (units built on a hillside so you still had a walk out to a patio and lawn to enjoy the outdoors and enjoy the view) however you had to go down a long set of stairs to access. Might not be appropriate for an older guest or one that is not quite as fit as they might be.

The driftwood hotel was fabulous, recently renovated in a retro bach style with all the mod cons. Location is amazing, easy check in process given we booked online once we got there. Nice takeaway a short walk away. You won't beat this place for location and ease. A really good surprise!

We chose this as it was pet-friendly and close to the beach. It surpassed pur expectations. Couldn’t fault the outlook from the room, it was exceptional. Clean, comfortable room with everything you need and the property had a great, communal feel to it. Cable Bay Store is a selling point, it is so good!
