Some young people on the street at night (young white males ) whose attitude towards me was rather mocking of an older person. This was about 10.45 at night. I come from Auckland. Cambridge is not a place I would feel safe walking the streets at night. Visitors beware. I don't feel like this when walking the streets at night in Auckland at that time. Cambridge has walks, cafes and history all within the town centre area. Every cafe/eatery seems busy with a steady flow of customers and always a table available. Food and service is excellent. We were there for the Nationals Dragon Boating Regatta, and would have liked to have stayed on afterwards as spending a few hours in and around Cambridge (when we were away from the lake), the town and surrounding area looked like a great place to explore further. The room was very clean and had all we needed, including a kettle and cups. An unexpected bonus was a fully equipped, spotlessly clean, guest kitchen located just a few doors along the corridor.
