The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for.

The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for. There are a couple of nice shops - not much else there although you could visit the nearby hamlets which looked to have some interesting features. We tried to walk along the river but the path was quite overgrown.

Fairlie hasnt got buried by tourists yet- it is real and the locals are busy farm folk. There are a couple of good eating places (our favourite is the Library restaurant-changed hands but food still excellent). The supermarket is well stocked. We have done some of the walks with our kids before - the new bike tracks sound interesting-must try them out next time. The information place is a gem with a couple of bubbly ladies with helpful ideas.

Lovely little town away from tourist spots and really good value. Couple of pubs to eat at and a chinese and bakery and supermarket. We used it as a place to have a quiet day before going to Christchurch. Turned out much better than expected and after some rain it was beautiful to see all the snow covered mountains around the town.

Fairlie is a very small village with the main attractions being the alpaca farm (nice for families) and the local pie bakery, which has been hyped in social media. We found the pies being not above average, we had better ones in most places. The best thing about Fairlie was the Fairlie Holiday Park and its comfy rooms.

Fairlie is a cute town that is close to many other places such as Lake Tekapo and Timaru. It has a number of good shops and nice restaurants. When my partner and I came to stay we went to a restaurant called Carnegies and it does quite tasty pizzas. Fairlie Bakehouse is also a good place to stop by but be careful going at lunch time as it was extremely busy when we went at 12pm. We enjoyed reading the little info stands telling you about the history of Fairlie. There's also a place you can stay at (Rollesby accommodation) that has hot tubs, so lovely. Overall, would visit Fairlie again!

Lovely old cottage that felt like my Nan's house. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed to cook a meal. There was a shelf with left over salt, pepper and odds and ends that helped with cooking while travelling. The bed was comfortable (the BEST on our trip) and warm with the electric blanket. Absolutely loved the fireplaces and there was plenty of wood. Fabulous location to walk to anywhere in Fairlie, but decided to dine in due to the facilities on offer. Just a magic stay!

Good we night stop if you’re hitting the slops in the morning or want a wander around fairlie- close to everything you need. Good section outside to for a summers night and carport to stop those frosts. We arrived late but easily settle in with the heatpump being on and welcoming. Friendly staff who we meet briefly the last morning.

Nothing. I tried before arrival to shorten the stay. Could easily requested on Booking. In person, on phone, still the receptionist is explaining me that he can’t do anything about the refund. Booking has sent me a notification saying that hotel still didn’t act on request.

Fantastic rural setting on the outskirts of Fairlie. The hot tub was ready and so lovely with views of the mountains to relax in. Studio had everything you need! A well set up kitchen too.
