The owner, Andy, was so welcoming and gave good information about the area. Breakfast the next morning with some made to order options was quite a treat. The property is set in a lovely and peaceful orchard - just a great respite at the end of a busy travel day. Close to both Tutukaka and Whaigarei, it was perfectly situated for exploring and for our dive trip the next day to the Poor Knights Islands.

The place is well marked in maps so it was easy to find. Smooth check in/out, simple communication with the host The host was very nice, showed us our room and the breakfast/living room and all details. The place is a bit secluded but so peaceful and quiet and beautiful, perfect b&b to relax while watching the nice garden around or explore Whangarei and surrounding. The rooms are freshly renovated, so spacious, comfy bed, pretty bathroom, nice sliding glass door to go to chill in the cute blue chairs on the terrace.

We felt like we were at home. Very friendly Hosts and super flexible to accomodate our needs. They were engaging with us individually. Theres alot to love about the Yurt Wai Rua. The location is beautiful with the small lake for the yurt and the entire property that you can walk around being so pristine and calming, a great start to our trip out of the big city! A world-class off-the-grid experience, i can't wait to go back!
