We just had the most wonderful stay at the Flying Plate Saloon. Eventhough we only stayed a night we got the full service with breakfast and a lovely chat in the morning. We could not imagine a cozier and more welcoming place to stay and will definitely recommend it to everyone <3

This property is perfectly appointed. From the moment you arrive you’re greeted by the friendly Sandra and Richard. It’s so homely including Sandra’s home made sour dough bread and spreads which are delicious down to warm robes for after you shower. So much thought and love has been put into this accomodation. It’s large for a BNB and felt like a warm hug from the moment we walked in.

Luxury in a tremendous B&B! Fantastic apartment. And - very seldom enough - plenty of hooks for our clothes. Private parking, comfy beds and every morning a delicious breakfast served in the room. Such a sweet little home. Superb cost/ value ratio at this adorable really comfortable house. Super clean and tidy with a very cool outdoor decking area. Aircon with Heating options for cool nights. A very well stocked kitchen with all the things needed for a self catering stay. Beautiful thoughtful little extras like a cupboard with basics and extra little niceties to help guests (cooking oil and chocolates, along with a tin of beans and little extras). Very welcoming. Lots of helpful cleaning supplies. You have to pop next door on the decking for the bathroom but it was possibly the best shower we have ever experienced in our recent 5 month trip. Good heater in the bathroom too. Lots of towels provided. A couple of nice cafes restaurants in town and a great cafe on the main road for breakfast. Waimate has a lovely park in the centre too. Parking is safe. It was a really good stopover at a very fair price. Big thanks to our hosts

We stayed in a large room with a view of the sea. Very clean with a comfortable bed. The rooms are part of a converted church complex in the country. What stands out is the real B&B breakfast served to you in a dining room. The host is friendly and accommodating. There are good restaurants, about 10 minutes' drive in Timaru.
