Lots of walks in the Haast Pass area, plus more around The Neck. Moss covered bush, and brilliant views when you get above the treeline (if the clouds haven't closed in). Winter is probably not the best time, but still very walkable. In summer Wilkins Jetboats are operaiting and there are more high octane amusements on offer.Guest review byHelenNew Zealand - 10.0
The buildings are great and very kiwi.
The buildings are great and very kiwi. This is a genuine place with fantastic staff and in a great setting. We'd recommend it to anybody travelling through beautiful Haast Pass. It's the real thing. Not poncy. The meal was great as was the beer....Guest review byGarryNew Zealand

This is not a shiny hotel, but a cute and quirky place to stay. The cafe was open from 3 and served dinner from 5. The pool was great to cool off in.
