The museum was really good as we had heard of Norman MacLeod leading the Scots settlement, so good to see it so well presented. Thought the Celtic Barn was a good venue. Waipu is a interesting town as it has a uniquely Scottish history. The town has an excellent museum and a number of nice cafes and restaurants. a short drive and you have two very nice beach areas to relax those being Waipu Cove and Laings Beach with several good hikes in the area as well.Guest review byTim - 10.0

A quite Town for a night or two night stay for a short weekend. Kids friendly pizza store and the waipu cave not too far but would recommend to have gumboots and Torch when visit with young kids. New Years day markets & night Ceilidh (Scottish dance). Busy rural town. Lots happening. Great art gallery in the old firestation. Nice cafes. Shops all open on the weekend. Lovely decor, the most comfortable bed, a luxurious bathroom, beautiful products and a very generous breakfast. It was very relaxing to sit on the deck with a Nespresso coffee (the only place we've stayed with a milk frother as well)!! and enjoy the gorgeous view.
