a town with character and he’s just the right size for me. It has a pretty centre with so much within walking distance and with the advantage of a bike I could explore the edges of the city that seemed to have most large stores as one would expect for a town of that size. On my bike this visit I spent hours getting lost and found on the many small backstreets where I always found people to talk to and redirect me when lost. A friendly place. Great connections by bus and train, only an hour from Lisbon. And then a fabulous coast to explore by public transport or bicycle. There are lots of bars and great restaurants.
There are lots of bars and great restaurants. The shopping mall was very nice and there are more shops in the town. I highly recommend the restaurant Real Balcao No 5. for dinner. Caldas is a treasure!
Caldas is a treasure! It’s a small, unassuming town, with gorgeous cobbled streets, a very large segment of walking streets in old town, a very beautiful park to meander in, and a wonderful outdoor market open every morning of the year. I found it and its residents delightful and welcoming. I left my backpack in a store and of course it was right there waiting for me behind the checkout, protected by store employees. I so love Portugal and the warmth and charm of the Portuguese people, This town is a beautiful place to stay if you want to do a very easy one day trip to historic Obidos! A great town to visit.
A great town to visit. A good transition point for further travels to closeby towns: Obidos, Fox de Arelho, Peniche and other further towns: Lisbon, Porto, Aveiro. Staff are superb - always on hand and helpful Bar is nice Shower water pressure is great and has a bath Restaurant chef is simply excellent, must go for dinner there Breakfast buffet has a very wide selection and open 7.30-10.30am Parking is under the hotel via the LaVie/Hotel entrance Walking to Caldas Rainha shops and restaurants is easy and a few minutes walk Big shopping mall is right next door Different types of pillows are on the bed to suit everyone. Clean, quiet, and safe.
Clean, quiet, and safe. Wonderful to walk in Dom Carlos I Parque. The trees, flowers, and plants are simply spectacular. The open air or farmer's market has a super selection of fresh produce and flowers. Definitely eat at Casa Antero, the best restaurant in town for over 50 years. Be sure to visit the ceramics museum, the Jose Malhou museum, and the Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro ceramics factory shop.Guest review byericUnited States

It was a small and intimate hotel with only 2 floors. The bedroom was huge with 2 comfy chairs and a small table to relax in and the patio door led onto the garden with sun loungers and a pool in the garden. The ground floor rooms were idea for anyone with limited mobility. The breakfast room was a separate building on the ground floor so that no one was disturbed.
