Really nice and modern look, even luxurious maybe. Breakfast was delicious and with a good variety. Rooms were cleaned and bed made up every day and we didn’t even ask for it. The reception was very helpful recommending places to visit and giving us discount coupons. And the location is PERFECT - metro just across the street, great connection with the airport and city centre!

FAQs about hotels in Lisbon

Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.

Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

Public transport was great, also lots of fantastic walks, I wasn't keen to go on the bus tour but really enjoyed, fantastic. If you can, walk the tram 28 route, we just followed the tram lines up and down, could take a day to do with all the lovely site and history. Went mid October and was still busy everywhere. Would recommend the sunset cruise, was beautiful.

Be prepared for walking on hilly streets and unpaved surfaces.. We hired a private guide for a walking tour our first day Great way to discover the city. and then venture out on your own then The Folks has a great breakfast with several locations. Lots of "Miradouros " to discover for beautiful views of the city. Loved Lisbon would definitely return!

Public transport was very good, reliable and inexpensive.

Public transport was very good, reliable and inexpensive. There are numerous places to eat and everyone should find something to suit them at a price they are willing to pay. Whilst Lisbon perhaps lacks the usual breadth of sites, it is very nice and the people are very easy going and make things most enjoyable. It definitely isn’t a place where you need a long stay to see and do everything you wish.

Lisbon is a great city with plenty to see and do, very easy and cheap to get to from the airport via Metro. The city itself is very hilly so be prepared for aching legs or take the easy option with plenty of Tuk Tuk's and trams all over the place...we walked...The castle, the Brazilian coffee cafe, the Squares, the Elevator are all worth visiting as are many other places, loads of shops, cafe's & restaurants and plenty to see in and around the city. Also worth a visit is a day trip to Sintra which is a cheap short train ride (40mins) where the Moorish Castle & Pena Palace are just two of the several castles and palaces in the area worth a visit and easily doable in a day ( we did 3 + the Old town) just get a hop on hop off bus pass from 434 and prebook the Pena castle before you visit, the others we just paid on the door with no ques but the main ones you need to book in advance. An don't for get the local pastries yummy we tried several.

I did not buy the City pass ticket and this proved to be a good choice. Each ride on a bus cost on 2.20 Euro regardless of distance. Museums appear to closed on Mondays. A major art museum in Lisbon was closed for renovation which will last for several months . The castle on top of Lisbon city is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays it would seem. The Belem palace and monastery were also closed for renovation, so my City Pass would have been an absolute waste of money. Best to check museum availability before buying city pass.

We did a long weekend, one of the best cities I have visited, loads to see, great vibe. We were lucky in having a friend who lived in Lisbon who knew the best places and how to get around. Would recommend the Tuk Tuk tour we did 1.5 hours and you see a lot in that time. Were going to use the tram but the queue was really long and you can't get off because you have to queue to get back on. Ubers really good value to get around. We did a lot of places from the outside but didn't really go into buildings/museums, etc you would need longer to do that.

I leave Lisbon feeling a little smug with my choice of hotel. I cannot find fault. It was excellent! The location was so so good. Close to the city centre with everything we needed within walking distance. The hotel itself has a lot of character. We had a lovely room on the 1st floor with a little terrace area. The staff are some of the best I have come across. They couldn’t do enough for you. It was so nice to have the use of a pool which provided a lovely spot to relax after long days walking around. Thank you Hotel Hotel.

Good - What previous guests thought, 1,635 reviews
The reception staff are very friendly. It’s a very basic hotel and good as a base for a few nights. I was attending a conference so the location was close to where I had to be, but if you are visiting Lisbon for the first time, then it’s quite far from the main central part (30-40 minute walk), so probably not the best hotel for first-time visitors. However, it was cheap and perfect for what I needed it for. I’d highly recommend it if someone is liking for a budget place to stay for a few nights.

Extremely good service, good location for walking around the city and next to metro station, comments regarding metro station noises are vastly exaggerated - normal city noises (I am a light sleeper and did not bother me), also clean good size rooms. Have been staying in other 5 star hotels in Lisbon before, and this one did not dissapoint in any way.
