Holy Cow! This is the Surfers Mecca! Biggest wave ever ridden in 2021 by Sebastian Steudtner from Germany, 86 feet! The ladies drying fish on the beach was fun. Decent glassed-in restaurant right on the beach near hotel. Great food and best garlic baguette toasted I've ever had plus excellent pasta. It was enough time for us to enjoy the beach, wander the boardwalk, do some window shopping, enjoy the beach, and take in the amazing views from the high cliffs overlooking the town. The old town of Nazaré, located at the top of the hill (Sitio), is beautiful and worth seeing, offering a stunning view of the town. Both the main beach and the north beach in Nazaré are beautiful. We loved Nazare.
We loved Nazare. We parked at the free parking near Farol Nazare Pontao Norte and strolled along the Praia de Nazare to the funicular. We saw all the lovely sites and views on the Sitio. It was spectacular.Guest review bybrianac1958United States - 10.0

Really well located as a base to visit other parts of Portugal within an hour or two of driving if you have your own car.
