Pearl of the Arabian Gulf

The ultra-modern Doha is best known for its busy airport, impressive skyline and stunning waterfront. With plenty of newly built sports facilities, large shopping venues and growing commercial centres, Doha is a true representative of the fast-developing Qatar.

From its old souqs (open-air markets) to new shopping malls, Doha is home to half of Qatar’s population. Pearl Qatar, which is a commercial, residential, leisure and tourist complex, reflects the vibrant expansion and growth of the city. A highlight of Doha is Al-Corniche, a long seaside promenade that curves around Doha Bay offering stunning views of Palm Tree Island and the city's skyscrapers.

Due to the population diversity, a large variety of cuisines are available ranging from Indian to Italian, American and, of course, Middle Eastern. For travellers wanting an alcoholic drink, alcohol is only available in bars attached to international hotels.

Perched on a stand-alone island, The Museum of Islamic Art is a showpiece of the world’s most complete collection of Islamic artefacts, and the first of its kind in the Persian Gulf. For day excursions, Doha Zoo features a variety of animals, including the Oryx, Qatar's national animal. Aladdin's Kingdom is an amusement park located in the West Bay.

Booking.com offers a variety of self-catering apartments, luxurious hotels and resorts, overlooking the picturesque Gulf, and near Doha International Airport.

Doha was a once in a lifetime time experience, from the genuinely kind people to the wonders of the world we were able to explore including the local cuisine, the landscapes and beaches to our experience in the desert where the desert meets the sea. Souq Waqif is a must visit and our dinner experiences at both Belhambar restaurant is traditional cuisine experience worth every dollar and also the Chinese restaurant at Waldorf was exceptional !

World class city. Amazing set up for tourism.

World class city. Amazing set up for tourism. Uber extremely cheap (compared to Australia). Food on par with Aussie prices but drinks (water/soft drinks) seemed little cheaper. Be mindful of female dress code, it is there country so respect their values. They are lenient of tourists to an extent but don’t walk around the Souq Waqif or city in beach attire etc… even though it’s 40 degrees.

I recently had the chance to visit Qatar, and overall it was a wonderful experience. One of the things I enjoyed the most during my stay was the food. The variety of dishes available was truly impressive, ranging from traditional Qatari meals to international cuisines, all full of flavor and beautifully presented. Every meal felt like a highlight of the trip, and the hospitality added even more to the experience. The only thing I found a bit challenging was the hot weather, especially during the daytime, which made outdoor activities slightly uncomfortable. However, with indoor attractions, shopping malls, and evening outings, the trip was still very enjoyable. Overall, Qatar left me with great memories, and I would love to return.

✅2 thumbs up to Mr. Dan in the reception area for exceptional guest relations skills, very commendable job. ✅The value for money when you book in this hotel is very competitive compared to the surrounding hotels in the area ✅The location where the hotel is situated is very ideal for tourists.

The room was so spacious can’t fault anything. Breakfast was repetitive but I find that at most hotels. Pool on rooftop Visited in July so was quiet everywhere including the hotel and in Qatar but I like it like that. West bay beach is included with hotel. It is around 10 mins by taxi.
