I recently had the pleasure of staying at Umutuzo Lodge, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I’ve stayed at many places in Rwanda but this by far is the best. It’s obviously on the pricey side but it was worth every cent. The food was amazing, the views from every angle were incredible and the staff really made you feel welcomed and well taken care of. I will definitely coming back.

I loved the scenery overlooking Lake Kivu. Nirvana has a lovely pool with a good view of the lake.. Also loved the local hut inspired room designs equipped with modern toilet facilities. The location is also a walking distance to the beach side where you can board a boat to get to the natural hot water springs ("volcanic water").

Beautiful views, gorgeous room and bathroom, comfortable bed with a good mosquito net. Waking up to so many bird songs we’d never heard before. The team were so kind and helpful. Including on one day where we couldn’t find a coffee plantation we were trying to get to. One of the employees who knows the area well jumped in the car to help us.. and it wasn’t close by!
