Overlooking the Julian Alps, the iconic Assumption of Mary Pilgrimage Church was built on the ruins of a temple dedicated to the Slavic goddess of love, Zina. The walk around the lake is great to do either way. A visit to the castle is a must. Vintgar Gorge is stunning and the walk back into Bled is easy to follow. Definitely visit Bohinj area whilst staying in Bled. You can’t cycle around the lake however the walk is lovely and you can get the electric boat back across the lake as an option. Great place to visit. Plenty of bars/restaurants in town. Probably 3-4 days enough if you just want to relax by the lake and in town. Longer if you're going to do some of the many trips/activities available - ziplining, canyoning, rafting. I'd recommend the canyoning and zipline. Lake Bled was wonderful, incredibly beautiful. We swam in the lake, paddle boarded on the lake, and caught the boat out to the island. The air con was very much needed and clmade the room lovely and cool. Great breakfast spread, we really enjoyed the yoghurt and granola pots that were already made up. We also looked forward to the daily fact/tip about bled/slovenia on our table at breakfast. Location is great, a short walk down the hill to the lake, lots of lovely restaurants around the hotel and bled union bus stop about 1 min walk. The view from windows was spectacular. Hotel is located just by the bus stop and the boat pier. The room was a very good size, nicely decorated, with a veeeeery comfortable bed.
