A pretty charming place. A good amount of restaurants could be found and there were plenty of coffee shops and bars. The walk along the river is lovely as there are lots of swans. We've only had a few hours in Maribor, like 8-10 hours, but...
We've only had a few hours in Maribor, like 8-10 hours, but I wish we stayed maybe a day. We managed to stroll a bit within the old town, went to the Piramida Hill and visited the castle and the Basilica of Our Mother of Mercy church. This city has more to offer and I wish we had more time. We've had dinner at GALA ŽAR, which is a small traditional Slovenian restaurant, The staff there was friendly, but their english was not very good. A city full of culture and charm. So many interesting things to see, do and experience. The only thing that was a bummer for me was that I arrived on Sunday and most of the shops, cafes and restaurants were closed by 8. Small city with good wine, coffee and food.
Small city with good wine, coffee and food. Prices are low compared to western europe but higher than the rest of the slavic world. There's not a huge amount to do but it's well-connected to Ljubljana and the Austrian border. Would recommend coming here in the summer-time. There are also fewer hostel options for those backpacking, the market is more geared towards hotel stays. The real way to see Slovenia is outside of the cities and in the mountains and forests, and Maribor is close to all of these, especially Pohorje.Guest review byJoshUnited Kingdom

In fact, we missed the instructions how to get to the hotel's parking lot (unblocking the city's posts on the way in) - but we parked just outside the pedestrian zone, no more than 3min walk and haven't seen the need to re-park. So location-wise - it was a perfect spot for a short city-break. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Nothing to complain about. WiFi worked great.Guest review byMaciejPoland

The next nice thing is that they offer parking place. There is like inside square where are some parking places what is very convenient. Nothing to complain about the breakfast.
