There is a village feel to Kamala Beach, you can easily walk to shops, restaurants etc. Lots of local stalls for drinks, food, massages, sun loungers etc right on the beach. Later in the day beach volleyball is very popular - casual horseriding, jet skis, surfing and parasailing available. Some walkways/footpaths along the beach restaurant areas have been upgraded in the past 2 years - so much easier. There are now 3 supermarkets on the main road. The beach was clean . There were designated areas that had clear notices saying it was dangerous to swim . There was an area that wasn’t designated dangerous for swimmers where the waves weren’t big. Kamala Beach is much quieter than Patong.
Kamala Beach is much quieter than Patong. Good for those who do not need a marijuana outlet on every corner or taking your life in your hand crossing the road. Good for families or more mature people who do not need to be entertained 24//7. Everything you need is within walking distance including supermarkets, public transport (though not very frequent), and a lot of restaurants and bars.Guest review byBrenda - 6.0

The rooms were spacious and clean and we enjoyed the pool. Tte beds were comfortable. There were some restaurants nearby , most of them are a 15-30minute walk (with the heat that can be a lot). There is heavy traffic in phuket so book grab in advance to got to places. Kamala beach is no more than 10 minute drive away.
