We recently had the privilege of visiting Tawan riverside elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The sanctuary is a beautiful and peaceful place. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the love and respect that the staff had for the elephants and the environment. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to feed and bathe the elephants. It was a truly unforgettable experience to be so close to these majestic animals and to see how much they enjoyed interacting with humans in a safe and respectful way. The full day activity was well organized and it’s a must when visiting this sanctuary. Staff was very helpful in everything we asked and food at the restaurant was very delicious.

Check-in is very accessible at the open-air cafe looking out over the fields. We stayed in an airy maisonette set away from the road down a gravel drive by the pond. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom simple but large and clean. We appreciated the inclusion of a setup mosquito net — the ceilings are so high here we would have struggled to hang our own! Our hosts were excellent, very chatty and helpful, and the included breakfast up at the cafe was particularly good. My partner enjoyed the coffee a lot. WiFi was also strong and parking was simple. We found the property well-placed for riding the Jesus Trail, visiting the huge Buddha up the road, and finding dinner — there are several good local options.

Warm and friendly people looked after us at Rimtharnn Homestay Maewin, it was a real pleasure. The room was very clean, spacious and smelled beautiful. It felt luxurious; nice robes, toiletries and slippers were provided. The beds are enormous and comfortable with lots of pillows and cushions. Food was exceptional, some of the best we've had in more than 20 years of visiting Thailand. We even had dinner delivered to our room one night! We definitely do not regret staying here, we would return.

This place is a NEW, amazing, and very well built cabin. It is very private with a lovely view. My girlfriend and I spent 1 night here whilst doing the ‘Mae Hong Son loop’, She did not want to leave this place after 1 night!!! Back in Australia this place would be a highly sought after property for a weekend getaway Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely host and welcomed with some fruit before we left our belongings to ride up to the Doi Inthanon summit and waterfalls. -The cabin is huge with multiple seating areas to relax and enjoy, there is a nice breeze coming up valley. -I usually only book accommodation with Air-Conditioning but this is not needed here as the higher altitude welcomes cooler temperatures than the rest of Thailand -The bed is comfy with a huge mosquito net, although we did not lights have any issue with bugs in the cabin, I think it may be possible to book for extra people and get additional beds setup -The bathroom is big and clean and the shower is setup so that the floor does not get wet in the toilet area, also the water pressure is crazy good -There is a kitchenette with coffee, water, sink, fridge, and another seating area -the host brings a massive breakfast in the morning at a time of your choice which kept us full for the day, we had the vegetarian options -this place is the perfect getaway in the mountain and I highly recommend P.S Mr Dee Italian is nearby and it top quality for dinner, we got it delivered and ate it out on our balcony
