Review of Fethiye, Turkey Fethiye is one of those rare destinations that truly has something for everyone. From stunning natural beauty to rich history and warm local hospitality, our time here was nothing short of unforgettable. The turquoise coastline, especially around Ölüdeniz, is breathtaking—perfect for swimming, paragliding, or just relaxing by the beach. The Blue Lagoon is postcard-perfect, and the sunsets are spectacular. If you're into nature and hiking, the Lycian Way offers incredible trails with panoramic views of the sea and mountains. Fethiye town itself is lively yet relaxed, with authentic Turkish markets, a beautiful marina, and delicious restaurants serving everything from fresh seafood to traditional Turkish cuisine. The Tuesday market is a must-visit for local produce and handmade goods. We were also struck by the friendliness of the people—everyone we met was warm, welcoming, and happy to help. Whether you're exploring ancient ruins like the Amyntas Rock Tombs, taking a boat tour through the 12 Islands, or simply enjoying Turkish tea at a café, Fethiye offers an unforgettable mix of adventure, relaxation, and cultural charm. Fethiye is wonderful with so much to see and do!
Fethiye is wonderful with so much to see and do! We were there for 6 days and we did not do everything I would have liked. From wonderful beaches with warm water, to non-stop night life and boat tours, paragliding, cable car, parasailing and everything inbetween. Stunning markets and a delicious fish market. Love the harbour to walk round and the old town. There are also plenty of clothing shops, jewellery shops, and local gift stores. The passenger ferry from Fethiye to Calis has a regular service and the cycle path makes it easy to commute between the two resorts. We were there for a week's sailing holiday.
We were there for a week's sailing holiday. A week was enough for that, but I would liked to have stayed longer to see more of what was on offer on the land. Such as a trip up the highest mountain nearby, maybe do a scuba dive or two and one or two of the excursions into the surrounding countryside. I didn't see much of the town but what I did felt safe and welcoming. We tried out a few of the cafes and restaurants and couldn't fault them at all. The food was fresh, tasty and well prepared, the waiting staff very attentive. Prices were variable with some things very expensive and others more in line with my expectations. Perfect, wonderful hosts, totally private, lovely restaurants in the area,and Inca restaurant on the corner at the top of the hill, especially . Sunsets are amazing. My husband is now totally in love with Turkey! In front of the hotel is a wide beach for jogging and walking, with many cafes and restaurants. I was at the wrong time for swimming, but if you choose the right time, the beach is great for swimming. The breakfast is great in general, the restaurant's food and drinks are good with suitable prices, with 10% discount for hotel residents.
