    The room was very clean… The staff was very friendly… The bed was the most comfortable bed. And when I discovered that I left my work phone there by accident, they did not hesitate to work with me on shipping the phone back to me by FedEx. They didn't have to do that because of liability, I'm sure, but they didn't hesitate to work with me and help me out. I would absolutely stay there again

    This hotel was a huge disappointment.

    This hotel was a huge disappointment. The first thing was check in. I have never had to check in with someone coming over a screen! It was hard to understand the person. There was nothing clean in this hotel. The bathroom was filthy. I would not (and told everyone in my party) not to take a shower and do now walk on the floors with no shoes on! We were on the second floor and having to walk around someone sitting at the bottom of the stairs smoking was not fun! The entire hotel was bad. I would not refer anyone to stay at this hotel.

    This facility had a toilet in my room that was not flushing...

    This facility had a toilet in my room that was not flushing at all. Sink was also not draining. When requested to repair asked me to wait one hour later. No one repaired it. Next time when asked about repair the lady ask me to use the toilet in the hallway that was already dirty. When requested another room, lady said impossible and that pushed me to contact Booking.com. I struggled over 40 minutes to get to talk to a live agent. Upon contacting the live agent, she helped me to get a new room. I was physically and emotionally tired by the time I moved to new room. I would not recommend this facility for anyone.

    The room and the staff were exceptional.

    The room and the staff were exceptional. We were passing thru on the way to somewhere else, so it was really just an overnight stay. Plenty of places to eat within a short distance of the hotel. Even though we were just passing thru, I feel that spending a couple of days at this hotel would have been great.

    I travel here frequently and enjoy the people, food and...

    I travel here frequently and enjoy the people, food and history of not only Effingham but the surrounding areas. You can can travel 30-40 minutes in any direction and experience history that you may not have known even existed. It is easy to get around and close to major highways for quick access to other areas to explore.

    I wanted to pay with cash at the property and when I tried, I learned it would be an additional $200. I did not see that listed anywhere on the website and I think that is an important bit of information. Deposits are listed for credit cards why not cash payments also.

    The hotel was very accommodating with our two cats! The staff were cat people and they were very helpful. They were very responsive when we called ahead with questions and also when we had to move our booking by one night.
