My cousin and his family live in Spring Creek, and I have a friend who also lives in Spring Creek. I just stayed one night in Elko for convenience to have dinner with my friend and the fact I was getting into town when my cousin and everyone was at work and would not really get to visit them that evening, so I just got a motel room for one night, then I stayed with my cousin for two nights. Elko, Spring Creek is a nice area to visit. The Ruby Mountains make for a beautiful drive and good hiking and camping for those who do that. We were driving through on Interstate 80 and Elko is in the middle of Nevada and is the largest town for miles and had the best selection of facililties. We did not gamble nor go into town for food so I cannot comment on anything but our overnight travel stop there, which was fine.Guest review byAnnUnited States - 2.0

Liked most was leaving! Liked the least was the room and my $100 deposit not being returned. This motel is scamming people out of their deposits by lying and making up things. Air conditioner didn't work. No toilet paper except half roll. Towels were dirty. No dead bolt on door. Room smelled dirty. Manager never got back to me when I asked for the property manager phone number. Never will I go here again! There is lots of deception going on here. BEWAREGuest review byWhipple - 4.0

Perhaps we remember an Elko of the past - say 10 years ago. At that time, it was a friendly, welcoming cow town. Commercial Street was a pleasant stroll day or night. On this trip we went "downtown" to repeat our previous experiences. It was not to be. Things are run down and the dichotomy in politics in America is apparent. Sad.Guest review bySteveUnited States
