    We loved the history of Galena, the little shops and the...

    We loved the history of Galena, the little shops and the food was great! The town itself is so interesting with streets going up on the hills and the beautiful homes that were built in the early years. Beautiful mansions! Going through the Ulysses Grant home is a must, and our lady that gave us the tour was excellent and full of knowledge!

    The place is beautiful wish we could’ve stayed longer.

    The place is beautiful wish we could’ve stayed longer. I planned a birthday celebration but the hosts told us the same day of the check-in that the cleaning lady was taking longer so my check-in time was at 4pm and she changed for 6:30pm. We got to the place at 8pm and they were still cleaning the house. I got a full refund and the host was always in contact which was nice. Very beautiful house though

    We like to hike and there were lots of trails within an hour...

    We like to hike and there were lots of trails within an hour drive. We went into Iowa to Mines of Dpain state park and Wisconsin to see House on the rock. We walked Main Street and that once was enough for us. There are plenty of shops and dining choices in town. The Wyndham gardens hotel was only 15 minutes. Street parking is free but there are for lots you have to pay for. We plan on returning to the area

    Loved the entire town.

    Loved the entire town. Met Jack the builder of the Irish inn, and ate at his fantastic Italian restaurant Vinnies downtown. The most disappointing experience was a place called Poopsies. It should be called the toilet bowl. A toy store/ kids store with the most disgusting back room table I have ever seen. I won’t even print what we saw you have to see it to believe it. The city should close this filthy part of the store down. The books of filth were every where for children to see. A big black eye for a beautiful city.

    The value of being able to ski so close, sort of, to home...

    The value of being able to ski so close, sort of, to home was amazing. There were no lines and the staff were most helpful. No elevators made it difficult getting baggage for 7 people in and out was a little difficult, but not impossible. We will definitely go back. Watching our grandsons ski lessons on the bunny slope was so easy from our restaurant view.

    Galena is one of the best quick getaways to take if you live...

    Galena is one of the best quick getaways to take if you live within a few hours. Downtown galena is beautiful with so many shops to visit. I could spend hours walking down the main street and go into all the shops. The Diamond Jo Casino and Maid-Rite are right over the border. Summer is also a great time to visit to experience the Mississippi River, ghost tours and just spending time downtown. We all love galena.

    Wi-fi was bad in my room and I really needed internet to continue my trip. I got switched to a new room with better reception without any issues. Got resolved easily. Very friendly personnel. Hotel is clean. Great and expansive breakfast. Hotel looks really nice, great theme. Location is excellent, close to Galena’s historic downtown. Free and ample parking space. Overall, excellent place to stay and most certainly would recommend.

    The house was beautiful, just a short drive from Galena. All the rooms are individual with a great view. Good beds.The hosts Cass and Steve are always there to answer any questions and create a nice atmosphere, specially at the big breakfast table. .The breakfast was delicious, we loved the cinnamon roll french toast. we had an overall great stay.
