It was close to other places we were going while staying there. We ate at Mary's Pizza in Cascade Flats and the portions were large enough that we brought back half our meals and ate them for supper the next night. We attended the parade at Milan Old Home Days and went on the van ride ride up the Mt. Washington Auto Road. The temperature was warm for the summit and the view was limited but not totally in the clouds. We drove to Berlin to River's Edge Ice Cream. We sat across the street on a park bench with a view of the river and ate our cones. Then we walked across the footbridge and back. It was an enjoyable and easy well lit evening walk along the bridge and sidewalk.

On the day of checkout I was moving things in and out of my room along with a group that I was with, they had two other rooms right beside me. It was about 8:30 in the morning. A housekeeper ran out with my bathing shorts that I had not packed because I was planning on swimming a bit before checking out at 11. Turns out, while I was outside, she had entered my room and tossed all of the bedding. Threw out all of the food I had in the fridge which I was planning on taking for the ride. Still can’t find my glasses and $20, the worst part is that I found all of my used facecloths and towels in the refrigerator. I mean, I was riding ATV all weekend and they were black! The housekeeper said she does that in every room, every day! This place really had a good breakfast spread, but your housekeeping staff need some education. And it would be nice if someone would get back to me!

The mountains are simply amazing you need to take a bike/drive down the 16 towards conway. Simply amazing. Berlin is kind of run down but it has small town charm. The people are nice and the place got hit hard by years of shut down and lack of tourism I suspect (high american dollar). The southern tip boosts some great little towns and mountain views. The northern part more remote and run down but so much potential (cheap housing good for retirement or young families?). Overall the place is pretty amazing with its views of the mountains. A mecca for ATVing, hiking is endless here, road biking, mtbing? (didn't try) and skiing (many places). We did the Tuckerman trail, go early or later in the day as parking is packed. Great area (AMC building etc...) and so much hiking, people hike up with skiis then ski down - amazing. Its a great little town spend some time in Berlin as well - spread the dough out a bit america.

Did not really spend much time in Gorham but used it as a base to visit the Mt. Washington area. It’s a small town but does have a Walmart for groceries and other needs. Some good restaurants as well as fast food.

    I love going to Gorham.

I love going to Gorham. I grew up here and so it's nice to go home for a visit. Centrally located so everywhere I wanted to go was a short ride. A lot of food options. Go to the Depot for breakfast... a wonderful meal.

A Charming Haven at the Foot of Majestic Mount Washington

A Charming Haven at the Foot of Majestic Mount Washington My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Glen House, located at the base of the breathtaking Mount Washington, and it was an absolute delight. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a stunning view of the surrounding landscape. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant, with options to suit every taste and preference. The location is ideal for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the area, with the Mount Washington Auto Road right next door. What truly made our stay special was the attention to detail and hospitality from the staff. From hiking recommendations to driving tips for the auto road, they were always willing to help. Overall, the Glen House is a perfect spot to unwind and take in the beauty of northern New Hampshire. Highly recommended! Pros: Comfortable and clean rooms Delicious food with varied options Ideal location for exploring Mount Washington Friendly and helpful staff Cons: No bicycles are allowed in the building! The hotel offer access to a small storage room where the bikes can be kept but it has no bike hangers.

Room was small but comfortable and very clean. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. This was a great place to stay on our halfway point, traveling through the US from Nova Scotia to Ontario. Gorham is extremely scenic being surrounded by mountains. It was a beautiful spot to stay for a night. Don't think we'd stay longer than that, but it was a perfect stopping spot.

Breakfast in the dining room was just okay, a bit mixed up from what we ordered, the food just okay. The view and dining atmosphere were very nice though. We didn't check out the pool or other facilities. Rooms were typical hotel style; clean and comfortable for a short stay. Staff responsive and helpful.
