    The country is beautiful. So much to see and do.

    The country is beautiful. So much to see and do. We found a milling museum in Mascot. Very interesting and free to tour. We go to Lancaster every year and never tire of it! The surrounding towns are very pretty and easy to explore.

    In retrospect

    In retrospect It is difficult to find the right mix to view and experience the quiet of farmland and Amish culture amidst bustling businesses and plenty of traffic and road construction We did enjoy the saltsburg train, Amish buggy ride and biking near Lititz. Best times were when we found some quiet time to enjoy just the views of beautiful farm houses and fields.

    We came for the show at the sight and sound theater.

    We came for the show at the sight and sound theater. We've been there about 9 times in the 30 years they have been preforming the plays. Have never disappointed us yet. They put on an great show. The one thing I didn't like was I made reservations 4-5 months in advance and planned to do the magic show and dinner theater. After I had made all the reservations and payed for the tickets they call and said the show was canceled. So we were stuck there for a extra day with nothing to do.

    Be prepared for lots of places to call in for local foods, crafts and cultural experiences. A car is definitely needed. We would have appreciated another day to see more of the opportunities available. Some were overly tourist oriented whilst others were quaint. Everyone was very friendly. Maybe our Aussie accent helped in that area.

    This charming 100-year-old home transports you back in time, perfect for those seeking a nostalgic escape, not a typical hotel stay. Beautifully preserved with wooden floors and wallpapered walls, it comfortably hosted our family of 12 for a fantastic weekend. The five well-appointed rooms and spacious kitchen easily accommodated us all. Ample parking and a nearby working dairy farm enhance the experience, set against serene cornfields on a quiet country road. For an authentic Lancaster area visit, this is the ideal spot. Highly recommended!

    There is plenty to do in and around Lancaster.

    There is plenty to do in and around Lancaster. We went for a train ride and a buggy ride. Visited a farm and went for a tour of Amish country. We also went shopping and to the American Music Theater.
