Liberal is not a big tourist attraction.
Liberal is not a big tourist attraction. We stayed here because no motels in Hugoton, my hometown, offered pet-friendly motels. We were. on a trip home from Albuquerque for Christmas, and Liberal--actually, Hugoton--was a good stopping place. Because I grew up in this area, I preferred to stay in Hugoton, my hometown, but there were no pet-friendly motels there, so we went to Liberal. Great aviation museum and Dorothy's house was excellent with Wizard of Oz movie memorabilia. Cortez museum had little to do with the explorer but nice local items. Helpful visitors center. Brick house BBQ is fantastic. IHOP was overpriced for what you get and waitress/kitchen screwed up my order. Old Chicago restaurant does not serve Chicago-style pizza but is decent.Guest review byWalter
