The people in Marquette were very nice.

The people in Marquette were very nice. It depends on what you are looking for. Marquette was more congested than I expected but it offered a lot of good things. They had great museums, some fun shops, good food and friendly people.

    Downtown Marquette is really fun.

Downtown Marquette is really fun. We were there on a Saturday and found a great clothing store (which was having a sale). We had a fun meal in a sports bar with a view located on Washington St. They have fixed up the downtown nicely and have art work and places to walk around. It is a pleasant city center. There is a lake front park too. Marquette in the summer is a surprise. It is an old town but is a college town which gives it a nice ambience. Not certain about the winter but I have been told there is lots of sport activity in summer and winter.

Marquette is picturesque and on Lake Superior.

Marquette is picturesque and on Lake Superior. That is about all that's good about it. Very snobbish people with attitudes. Unfriendly. If not for a fishing charter I would not have spent the day. I did give it a chance. Turned me right off. Bypass if possible.

I've made several trips to Marquette due to my son attending Northern University. Not sure if I would have come this far up if he hadn't been here, but have enjoyed every trip, snow, rain or shine;)

Only stayed one night on my way to Duluth.

Only stayed one night on my way to Duluth. The fact that Hudson's grill just across the parking lot with live music, 3$ margaritas, excellent food at a reasonable price. I used GPS to get there, so it was pretty easy to find.

Eat at the Dry Dock when you are in the area.

Eat at the Dry Dock when you are in the area. Great breakfast. Specialty pizza tasty. Take out available. Also try Nang's Rice Paddy. Take out and cash only. Cheese cheese wontons crisp, freshy made. Orange chicken and moo goo gia pan (sp?) also great. Free museums (art and heritage) at the University. Indoor walking trail at the Superior Dome, also on the university campus.

This hotel is clean. Good quality. Confortable . The swimming pool is great. Not too cold. And clean. With some swimtoys for kids. Breakfast is small, no cooked food, but you have enough to be happy
