What did we like? We loved, loved, loved the location! The Sea Breeze Inn is close enough to downtown Newport's shops and eats to get there conveniently, and yet it is far enough away from all that traffic and congestion so you can relax and enjoy some solitude. We also liked the fact that the windows in our room actually worked as windows are supposed to, letting in those great ocean breezes, and letting us breathe fresh air. We also liked the cooked to order breakfasts each morning.

    Middletown is absolutely beautiful. Plenty of beaches to chose from and all have great views of the surrounding area....eg. cliffs. Lovely coast road drive which leads to Brenton Park for flying kites or have a picnic.

    We had a wonderful time in Middletown. We stayed at Newport Hotel & Suites. Perfect location and very nice accommodations. Right near the beaches and took an uber at night to downtown Newport which is only a 5 minute ride!

    Middletown is great for being outside the Mecca of Newport.

    Middletown is great for being outside the Mecca of Newport. And while in the hotel, I felt like I could have been anywhere in the world. It's that inviting and comfortable. We came for a 2 day AAU Basketball Tournament in Tiverton, and I chose to stay in Middletown overnight. I wish we could have stayed longer... I wanted to walk down memory lane having lived and Served in the USN in Newport, but alas I had to flutter back home. I loved that there were stores and restaurants close by, but the proximity to downtown Newport drew me to the coastal village that I once loved so much and still do. Loved coming back to hospitable Sonesta employees, working out in the gym for a spell, sitting in the Sun the next morning in the pool area. So warm and bright.

    The historical places are awesome especially the Breaker...

    The historical places are awesome especially the Breaker Mansion, nice fishing spots too but very limited accessibility for guests or visitors. Most of the beaches I tried to visit say, “For residents only, that requires a beach tag.” This kind of local policies will turn away tourists and will be a disaster for tourism. Fact, local residents pay taxes but Middletown could generate more income and will be great for local businesses if tourists guest will be treated properly and not turned away. Every year thousands of families and friends visited the area due to their family members serving or training in Newport Naval base.

    All access to major stores and other services.

    All access to major stores and other services. Easy to drive locations. Driving to downtown Newport took about 10-15 mins depending on traffic but there are side streets to get around some of it. Heads up on speed limits and traffic lights! There are many of both.

    Middletown is a gem.

    Middletown is a gem. Surrounded by Newport and Portsmouth on Aquidneck Island. Beautiful beaches, great food, friendly people. Favorite places: Sachuest Beach, Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge, Great eateries include Johnny's Seafood at the Wyndham Hotel, Atlantic Grille, Tickets, Chilli's and Chelsea's.

    We really enjoyed staying in this lovely place. Our room was large and airy with everything we needed. Sparkling clean and a lovely comfy bed. Breakfast was a buffet which was ample and fully stocked. The lady on the desk, BJ, was so welcoming, ready to give advice on places of interest and places to eat. So helpful, and made us feel right at home. Location for us was brilliant, not too far from Newport centre but far enough away to be quiet at night. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel!

    Location was great - only a 10 to 15 mins drive to the mansions and downtown Newport. Room size of the 2 king suite was very good and water pressure was great. Coffee and tea were available 24/7 at the lobby. Staff were helpful when I had some issues with the WIFI. Housekeeping was quick and efficient - they came by everyday.
